Don't despair and never lose hope; Hope, an essential for Wellbeing in our somber troubled WorldWhy is Hope, an essential for Wellbeing in our somber troubled World? Because hopelessness is the ultimate deviancy along the downward spiral from excellence, relevance and wellbeing, to physical, mental and intellectual rust, and eventually to oblivion. So, fundamentally all human beings, by nature, and by virtue of our existence, a priori, do affirm hope. Hope defines us, consciously or subconsciously, as we yearn for it for ourselves, our families, our friends and the society at large. The nature of the affirmed hope, the accompanying desire and behavior would ultimately dictate the state of wellbeing of the person. While it is quite possible to live one’s life with a mindset that blocks off the inherent dangers, instability  and insecurities of our troubled world, such existence would require a good dose of hope to cope with the negative consequences of the reality of human existence when an ugly incident rears its head. Thus, it is much better from the standpoint of coping mechanisms, to incorporate hopefulness into one’s repertoire of daily desires. Then, the impact of the blow of inevitable pains and agony of the human experience would be less.

Hope and Strength; Hope, an essential for Wellbeing in our somber troubled WorldHope in what; the reader may ask? Hope in the triumph of love over hate, in the victory of justice over injustice and in the triumph of tolerance and fairness over prejudice. These Hopes will be challenged in our lives daily, weekly, monthly and probably at least quarterly. But we must not faint or stumble. In order to live a truly meaningful life with inner peace, Hope must be part of our coping mechanisms for the vicissitudes of life. Always remember, Hope, an essential for Wellbeing in our somber troubled World is sorely needed. You must not live home without it. On a grand scale, the Hope is that ultimately, most of us, or at least the majority of humanity will realize that as members of the human family, Homo Sapiens, we share a common destiny ontologically. Hope that we would realize that no matter the yardsticks the rulers and the learned of our time use to compartmentalize us, the responsibility for the preservation of our planet and our species as we know it, rests squarely on our shoulders. Hopefully, we would all realize that it is a privilege for us to be alive, and to have the opportunity to contemplate the profundity of this colossus, this grand, beautiful, wondrous design/creation we call the Universe.

Never lose infinite hope; Hope, an essential for Wellbeing in our somber troubled WorldA profound exposition of hope and wellbeing in our seemingly dark, troubled world is the interlude between the sixth seal and the seventh seal in chapter 7 of the book of Revelation in the Bible. Following a profound calamitous vision of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse in chapter six of the book of Revelation, Apostle John makes a sudden and dramatic turn in the next chapter, delivering a message of Hope. In doing so, he presents to us, Christians and non-Christians, a picture of the reality of the human experience. The balancing of the tension between the reality of the pessimism, the darkness of our world, and the optimism and Hope therein will always be a challenge for us, mere mortals. However, as long as we remind ourselves that Hope, an essential for Wellbeing in our somber troubled World should take center stage in our desires and deliberations, then a healthy life and true wellbeing can be achieved.
